Referrals
How to be seen by one of them
Self-pay and insured patients
You can book directly. Name the consultant on the outpatient form and we will hold their next available slot while we call you back. Insured patients should get pre-authorisation from their insurer first; we will supply a coded quote if you ask.
NHS patients
Referrals come through your GP or as a consultant-to-consultant referral from another trust. You can name a Nova consultant on an e-Referral and, where the waiting list allows, we will honour it.
Second opinions
We see a lot of second opinions and we are relaxed about it. Bring your imaging on disc or ask your current team to send it — we would far rather read the original scan than repeat it.
Urgent cases
If your referral is marked urgent by a clinician, it is triaged by a consultant the same working day and you will usually be offered a slot inside two weeks.
